Bart Segers

Bart Segers

Bart Segers has been co-founder and CEO of genae since 2005. With a degree in telecommunications, he initially held engineering positions in the flight simulation department of Sabena (now Brussels Airlines) and Canon Europe. In 1993, his experience in laser technology facilitated the start in the medical field at Spectranetics, a US-based medical device manufacturer, where he later guided the Sales & Marketing team for Europe, the Middle East and Africa as General Manager until 2005.

Together with Aly Talen and private investors, he then founded genae, a global mid-size CRO with focus on medical devices. He currently rolls-out a merger and acquisition plan for the genae group and continues to expand the offices in the USA, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. January 2015 marked the integration of e-novex in the e-Solutions business unit of the genae Group.

Director, Co-Founder & Sr. VP Business Development Aly has a degree in general and psychiatric nursing with extensive nursing experience in a catheterization laboratory (Hamburg, Germany). She worked as a Clinical Research Associate and Project Manager for Omnicare Clinical Research, a Clinical Research Organization. She founded the CRO “Talen Clinical Trial Management” in 2001, which was acquired by genae associates in 2005.

Aly lived and worked in different countries which facilitates in the contact with different cultures. Her experience and network in the clinical field make her a credible and reliable partner in discussions with key opinion leaders and the medical industries. She is a talented communicator with a strong clinical research background.

Aly is all about providing clear and full support to customers, resulting in long-lasting relationships and repeat business opportunities.

Jörn O. BalzerMD, MHBA

Jörn O. Balzer

Prof. Balzer is Chief of Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the Catholic Clinic in Mainz, Germany.
He holds a PhD in Diagnostic Radiology and a Master in Health Business Administration.
He teaches Radiology at the J.W. Goethe University in Frankfurt and is specialized in Interventional Radiology, MRT and CT.

Peter BossierMSc

Peter gained a degree in industrial engineering from the KIH in Ostend with majors in ICT and avionics. He has built a career in business automation and served as Head of the ICT Dept. at the Sint-Andries hospital in Tielt, Belgium.

In 2008, Peter co-founded e-novex, a services provider for clinical trials with Electronic Data Collection and Clinical Trial Management System technologies. In 2010, he co-founded Techsoft, an ICT consultancy.

Wouter Tack

Wouter Tack got involved in research in cardiac transplantation, cardiac surgery and heart failure as a Clinical Heart Transplantation and Procurement Coordinator. He headed the clinical trial unit of the Cardiovascular Center at the Onze Lieve Vrouw Hospital in Aalst where he coordinated many drug and medical device trials and the first cardiac stem cell transplant trial within the department.

He then joined Terumo as a Product Specialist for Central and Eastern Europe where he later became the Clinical Research Coordinator for the Nobori I DES trial; the first multi-center, randomized trial for Terumo.

Wouter was Country Manager for the UK and Ireland at Spectranetics International where he established a direct sales organization.

Wouter’s profound clinical knowledge and expertise has led to his recognition as a respected communication partner by many key opinion leaders worldwide.

Philippe Kassab

Philippe Kassab joins genae after spending nine years at General Electric. With a degree in business administration from Northeastern University, Philippe initially held several roles in finance and treasury at GE in Paris, France.

Philippe was then a Sr. Associate at GE’s leadership program, Corporate Audit Staff. His assignments in healthcare, oil & gas, real estate and financial services have led him to be posted in North America, the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe.

Philippe’s in-depth expertize and knowledge of business processes, financial audits and transaction analysis are tremendous assets to complement the growth of the global genae group.
